Preparation: :Before the procedure, the patient undergoes a thorough evaluation,
including medical history review and diagnostic tests to assess heart function.
Anesthesia::Local anesthesia is administered to numb the area where the device will be
implanted, usually beneath the collarbone.
Device Implantation: A small incision is made, and the CRT-D device is implanted under
the skin, typically on the left side of the chest.
Lead Placement: Leads (thin wires) are threaded through blood vessels into the heart's
chambers, allowing the device to monitor heart rhythm and deliver electrical impulses.
Testing: The device is tested to ensure proper function, and adjustments are made as needed.
Closure: The incision is closed with sutures or adhesive strips, and a bandage is
applied to the site.
